GeneSegues Awarded Patent for Drug Nanoencapsulation

Minneapolis,
Minnesota - GeneSegues, Inc. announced it has been awarded
U.S. Patent no. 6632671 for its drug nanoencapsulation technology.
The technology condenses and encapsulates DNA and RNA-based
drugs in carriers less than 50 nanometers in diameter, the
equivalent of 2-millionths of one inch. By condensing the
drug and constructing its carrier with targeting proteins,
the Company is able to deliver large-molecule drugs intact
to the specific tissues and cells needing therapeutic treatment.
GeneSegues
has similar patents pending in Europe, Japan, and other
countries. The Company currently is using the benefits of
this delivery technology to develop therapeutics for solid-tumor
cancers.
